GeneBe Desktop Early Stage Release ā Local BED and VCF Browser
TL;DR: First Early Stage Release of GeneBe Desktop is out š ā a local, fast, interactive browser for VCF and BED files. It supports filtering, large VCF files, Ensembl CSQ annotations, GeneBe data lookup, and runs on Windows and Linux.
Iām releasing the first Early Stage Release of GeneBe Desktop ā a locally running browser for VCF and BED files.
It solves a very practical problem: opening, browsing, and filtering variant files without fighting with Excel, text editors, or files too large to load comfortably.
Current features include:
- local browsing of VCF and BED files,
- interactive variant filtering,
- support for very large VCF files, including files in the GB range,
- correct parsing of Ensembl CSQ annotations,
- fetching additional variant data from GeneBe,
- a fast and clean interface,
- support for Windows and Linux.
