Accounts in GeneBe
GeneBe can be used anonymously for basic functionality. However, to access advanced features, we strongly encourage users to create an account. Account registration is free, but limited to one account per person. The use of institutional email addresses is required. Creating multiple accounts or providing false information may result in immediate suspension without prior notice.
User accounts are essential for enabling personalized functionality such as:
- Viewing the history of accessed variants
- Marking variants as "observed"
- Saving variant ACMG assignments for future reference
- Submitting samples to analyze online
- Making authenticated API requests
The GeneBe API imposes query limits on a per-account basis. For more information, refer to the API account guide.
In the future, we may introduce different account tiers with varying capabilities. Stay informed for upcoming updates.
